Root Chakra Also known as Mooladhar Chakra in Sanskrit, is located at the base of the spine or coccyx area. The colour of this chakra is Red. The Root chakra or Mooladhar Chakra is the center of self-preservation and is governed by earth element. Self-preservation is an instinct required in every field of life. The Root chakra or Mooladhar chakra is also the focal point of dynamic activities. Its subtle aspect is stability and its fundamental aspect is smell (Gandh). This chakra controls and energizes the muscular and skeletal system. The mantra for the earth element is Om Lam (‘ॐ लं’). The earth element controls bones, muscles, cells, blood and bone marrow.
